3D Resource: Free Textures

1. Mayang’s Textures

With a library of  4000+ free textures, Mayang’s website should be one of your first stops. They have high quality textures, signage, and all sorts of other images.

The catch: you can only download 20 images a day and its tracked by your IP address (so if other people are using the same MICA internet as you on the same day, then it could pose as a problem).

2. CG Textures

CG Textures is one of the most popular resources for textures. They have a library of over 10,000 images and most of their textures are tileable.

The catch: Can only download upto 15mb of textures in a 24 hour period. You also cannot distribute these textures.

3. Texture King

Tons of high quality textures that can be used for commercial work as well.

The catch: I don’t think there is, but let us know if you find one.

4. Designm.ag

Lots of stuff that aren’t just textures – there’s bokeh, light trails, grungy paper, etc.

The catch: It is a list of collections from various websites that all may have different catches.

5. Open Game Art

Lots of user-submitted art, so if you have textures to, you can submit them to increase their library

The catch: Licensing varies from image to image because it is all user-submitted. So just make sure and double check certain things before you use them for anything commercial.

*The Animation Server

MICA’s Animation Server has an animation library with a few textures already uploaded.

Do you have more resources? Please submit them in the comment section below or email bpatel@mica.edu and we will start adding them to the list.
